FM Works is a young and upcoming production company founded in 2016, aims to produce internationally oriented, character-driven narrative projects, with no distinction between fiction and documentary. The founder of the company has produced a docu-drama called ‘Young Wrestlers’, of which world premiere was made at 66th Berlinale Film Festival. This film project was pitched in many international festivals as Berlinale, Thessaloniki, Cinekid, Sarajevo and markets as Meetings on the Bridge, Cinekid within Kaliber Film Turkey Production Company, which she previously founded at 2011.
FMWorks develops and represents projects at platforms and labs, where they may be introduced to interntional industry. Thus we are aiming to be a creative partner of the projects, from the early stages of development. FMWorks proceeds developing inventive and reformist documentaries, fiction and animation films, aiming to make awareness and focusing mostly on women and children stories.
She was born in Ankara. After her graduation from School of Law, she attended a post gradute programme, Producing Film&Drama at KHAS University. She worked as a part time producer assistant at different companies as Zeynofilm, ANS Production, FOX TV. She specialized on intellectual property rights combining her education with her industrial experiences. She academically continues her studies on IP rights, while studying at private law PhD programme of Istanbul Bilgi University. She also works as a consultant and lawyer for outstanding production companies. She founded Kaliber Film Turkey with Mete Gumurhan in 2011 and produced a feature, docu-drama film called ‘Young Wrestlers’, of which’s world premiere was made at 66th Berlinale Film Festival, and awarded by a special mention. As an independent producer she proceeds developing inventive and reformist documentaries, aiming to make awareness.
Fırat Uran was born in Adana. After graduating from Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Law, he iniated his legal intern practice at Kanal-D. He completed 5 certificate programs at UCLA University; Producing, Business and Management of Entertainment, Entertainment Studies, Marketing, Story Development. He worked as a production assistant in the 'Home of' project in Los Angeles, which was promoted by Imeanit Creative Agency. He accomplished 6 weeks film making workshop of New York Film Academy and shot many short movies. Uran also attended London School of Economics, international law summer school. Currently, he is studying two postgraduate programmes in Cinema-TV and Copyright Law at İstanbul Bilgi University and also works as a lawyer specialized on Intellectual Property Law.
Uğur Şahin was born in 1983 in Istanbul. In 2004 he graduated from the finance faculty of Anadolu University. Since 2010 he has been worked as line producer at feature-length and documentaries. The film “Young Wrestlers” he worked as line producer has competed in the 66th Berlin Film Festival and won the Special Mention Prize. In 2015 he had the opportunity to be a part as producer of the Sarajevo Talent Campus.
